Stephan Reinhardt:" From roughly 50-year-old vines, the 2015 Rheingau Riesling Rauenthal Nonnenberg opens with a clear yet intense and concentrated bouquet of white seed fruit and ripe Riesling aromas intermixed with smoky and stony notes that give it a slightly "dusty" haze and austere quality. On the palate, this is a dense, round and elegant Nonnenberg with fine tannins and a very nice sur lie texture. The acidity is delicate and well integrated, but the charm of the 2015 is still discreet. The structure, however, is promising as is the persistent finish. Tasted December 2017."
