David Schildknecht:" The fruit character of Burklin-Wolf’s 2011 Forster Ungeheuer Riesling trocken GC runs – rather typically for this site – toward over-ripe peach and musk melon, accompanied by earthy suggestions of winter squash and high-toned evocations of mint. There is ample stuffing here, but not the clarity, primary juiciness, textural nuance or interactivity that is conveyed by most of its siblings in the present collection; in which respect also, frankly, I consider it typical of its terroir. Hints of squash or melon seed bitterness and sizzle of citrus rind help extend the finish. "
